The Hyattsville Police Department issued an alert shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, advising the community that Northwestern High School was placed on lockdown as a precaution following an incident earlier in the afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the department offered an update, confirming the location of the incident - the nature of which has not been disclosed - and stating that no injuries were reported.
The school remained under a precautionary lockdown.
